UNE Featherman Hall

"The MRI suite was designed with a diverse mixture of wall, cabinet and floor finishes, including a fiber optic 'star filled sky' in the ceiling above the MRI. It all came together with surgical precision under OAI’s leadership."

Project Highlights
  • Project Value:  $8.5 million
  • Size: 42,000 square feet
  • Timeline: 2006/2007
The first obstacle in building Featherman Hall was finding space for it on the UNE campus. It required relocating the softball field to stake out a site for this new 155-bed residence hall.

The four-story, air conditioned building combines classroom facilities with dormitory rooms. Floors are divided into two living spaces, with double rooms grouped around common areas. This arrangement provides the flexibility to accommodate convention attendees in the summer.

Featherman Hall was completed in April—four months ahead of schedule.
