The extremely aggressive schedule for South Hall was further condensed when an inconceivable situation arose in early August, three days before we picked up the permits. The start date was delayed by nearly two months and the team was forced to perform work typically done in warmer months through the Maine winter.

Even when we did get the go-ahead, it was limited to the foundation and steel fabrication. It was not until mid-December that we received the authorization to proceed, full steam ahead. Through the concerted efforts of owner, architect and contractor, we completed the job one month ahead of schedule, with no change orders.

The four-story, 210-bed building has a structural steel frame with brick-clad veneer. Air conditioned, 4- and 6-person suites feature double bedrooms grouped around a common area with private bathrooms.
