Bruce Freeman

Bruce Freeman

Bruce comes to the construction industry via an eclectic background. After graduating from the University of Maine at Fort Kent with a degree in mathematics and science, he taught high school math for nine years and was twice selected outstanding teacher of the year. From 1980 to 1992, Bruce owned and operated a retail home improvement center, where he assisted customers with home design and construction. He joined Ouellet Associates in 1994.

Bruce has the ability to wear multiple hats while paying strict attention to the finest details. He applies his organizational skills to a variety of tasks at our firm. In addition to being a project manager, Bruce manages the submittal process, tracking and coordinating project issues; maintains our project pre-qualification statements, and develops project outline specifications and contracts. He also manages and tracks project change orders and creates every project close-out manual. In addition, he is Ouellet’s resident marketing guru.

A leader in the community, Bruce served eight years on the board of directors and as president of the Fort Kent Credit Union, where he oversaw construction of their new offices in 1993. He spent three years on the board of the Maine Retail Association and served for more than 25 years on the board of the Fort Kent Ski Tow. As president of that organization, he was instrumental in designing and installing the first mechanical ski lift. Bruce has also chaired the Maine state ski meets and promoted skiing in the Fort Kent school system—all of which earned him the Outstanding Citizen of the Community Award in 1998. When the snow is gone from the trails, Bruce repairs to the ocean and his sailboat.
