"I can honestly say that due to Ouellet Associates’ preparation and management there were no outstanding items left unaddressed in the 1 1/2 year project. This is rare in our business."

Mike Ouellet, CPC

Mike Ouellet literally grew up in the construction industry, working for his father’s general construction firm every summer from the time he was a teenager. In 1977 he earned an associate’s degree in civil engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology and was elected president of Tau Alpha Pi, the national honor society for engineering technology.

After college, Mike returned to the family business, rising from foreman to project administrator. He acquired the skills of estimating, general management, field supervision, safety management and project management on jobs that ranged to $6 million in scope. Among the projects he supervised were jobs totaling $15 million for the Army Corps of Engineers at Loring Air Force Base.

In 1992, having successfully expanded the southern division of his father’s company, Mike started Ouellet Associates. Founded on principles of integrity and personal attention, the firm has flourished and continues to expand.

Over the past decade Mike has developed a distinctive management philosophy, working closely with clients and architects from conceptual, schematic, design development and construction documents to bring value engineering to bear in early project stages. Looking ahead, Mike is focused on sustainable building practices and making sure that Ouellet Associates stays ahead of the curve in today’s evolving construction market.

Mike continues to broaden his construction knowledge through management workshops and seminars. In 1998 he was among the initial group of only 300 individuals to earn the CPC (Certified Professional Constructors) designation from the prestigious American Institute of Constructors. He is a member of the Construction Financial Management Association and the Maine Safety Council.
