The renovation of Bates College’s Ladd Library was completed in phases over several summers. The project entailed upgrading the electrical and mechanical systems for energy efficiency and noise reduction, installing a dual-action sprinkler system, converting an old classroom into a state-of-the-art computer training facility and bringing the building up to ADA-compliance. The challenge was performing the work in a tight, ten-week timeframe, while the library remained open. OAI used negative air machines to maintain a dust-free environment.
